The WRC is a CEO-led initiative that brings together businesses, governments, NGOs, and local communities to address shared water challenges. ALDI intends to collaborate with partners to advance water stewardship efforts, support collective action in high-risk watersheds, and contribute to efforts that strengthen long-term water security and supply chain resilience.
As part of this commitment, ALDI has joined the Colorado River Basin Collaborative (CRBC), a flagship initiative of the WRC and the Climate Pledge. Announced in September 2026 with an initial $32 million commitment from participating members, the initiative supports projects that improve water security, strengthen watershed health, and enhance resilience in a basin that supplies water to nearly 40 million people and is the backbone of significant agricultural activity across the western United States.
Water is essential to the production of many of the products our customers rely on every day, from fruit and vegetables to dairy and other agricultural commodities. As water scarcity, declining water quality, and ecosystem degradation place increasing pressure on food systems, we believe that collaboration is critical to help drive impact. By working within the WRC and alongside our suppliers, we aim to support solutions that have the potential to strengthen resilience at both watershed and landscape level.
