RecyClass
RecyClass is a non-profit, cross-industry initiative facilitating the transition toward a circular plastic future. It aims to improve the recyclability of plastic packaging and establish a harmonised approach to calculating and tracing recycled content in Europe.
The ALDI SÜD Group joined RecyClass in 2022 to further strengthen its commitment towards more sustainable packaging. The initiative works to develop scientific testing methods for innovative materials. It also offers Recyclability Certifications for plastic packaging and Recycled Content Traceability Certification for plastic products.
Its Design for Recycling Guidelines help the industry improve the overall recyclability of plastic products. In addition, the free RecyClass Online Tool simulates the recyclability of packaging according to RecyClass Methodology and the information provided in the guidelines.
