Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP)
The Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) is a global environmental action NGO, originally founded in the UK, working in over 40 countries. Its mission is to bring together businesses, NGOs and governments to create systemic change and drive the transition to a circular economy. WRAP established the UK Food and Drink Pact, which addresses sustainability challenges and commits to ambitious environmental targets.
ALDI SÜD GROUP supports the UK Food and Drink Pact's Waste Reduction Roadmap, a comprehensive programme to help businesses identify, measure and tackle food waste. We have actively promoted WRAP's Love Food Hate Waste campaign providing our customers with practical tips on how to reduce food waste, and their Food Waste Action Week in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
We are also a member of WRAP's Water Roadmap, part of the UK Food and Drink Pact. This programme addresses the challenges of protecting critical water resources for food, nature and local communities. ALDI has committed to their 2030 targets and supports water projects in southern Spain, Kenya and South Africa, as well as water projects in the UK.
