Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)
The Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) is a North American forest certification organisation established in 1995. SFI develops standards for forest management, fibre sourcing, chain of custody certification, and provides a framework for responsible sourcing of forest-based materials. Organisations seeking certification are assessed against SFI requirements through independent third-party audits conducted by accredited certification bodies.
The ALDI SÜD Group applies SFI certification standards in the United States for selected wood- and paper-based products and packaging. Compliance with the applicable certification requirements is verified through independent third-party audits carried out by accredited certification bodies.
