That was the focus of our Climate Week NYC event end of September, where the ALDI SÜD Group brought together 100+ suppliers, producers, financial institutes, NGOs and many more to explore how partnerships can help drive progress.
Our first-ever session at the Climate Week NYC, Building Better Partnerships for Agriculture, was hosted by our Group Chief Commercial Officer, Thomas Udesen, and International Sustainability Officer, Anke Ehlers.
The session not only introduced our new sustainability strategy, it also explored practical examples of advancing regenerative agriculture across different parts of the supply chain.
The session closed with an interactive workshop, where participants tackled five challenges: financing, farmer participation, knowledge sharing, commercial confidence and partnerships.
Our journey has only just begun, but the conversations at Climate Week NYC left us encouraged: across the food system, organisations increasingly recognise the value of learning from one another and working in partnership, and so do we. Together, we can turn practical ideas into action and help build a more resilient, affordable food system.
At the ALDI SÜD Group, our Purpose is to make a good life affordable. This means offering our customers great quality products at low prices, while maximising our positive impact on people and the planet.
To bring our Purpose to life, ALDI’s new approach to sustainability focuses our efforts where we can meaningfully contribute to positive outcomes across climate, nature, and people, recognising that each is closely interconnected. We want to use our business as a Force for Good – this means investing in initiatives that drive meaningful change and support the transformation of the food system
